When you fall down
I've fallen.
This week I have felt weak, incapable, inadequate and small. Everything fell on top of me. Fear has taken the wheel. I have been at the mercy of my thoughts. It has been tough. When we are not feeling strong, our thoughts can consume us. I find setbacks extremely challenging. You feel like you are back at square one, note the word FEEL.
My mind has been racing constantly, albeit brief moments of peace and surrender have presented themselves to me which gave me hope. Those moments remind me that there is always hope even when you feel like your at rock bottom.
It is okay to fall. It is okay to struggle. It is okay to cry. It is okay to feel things. It is okay to think not so good thoughts. It is okay to rest. You are not alone and I know when you're sitting at the side of your bed weeping you FEEL alone but you are not. One of the biggest things we have in common is that we are all human and we all have such similar experiences. Let us take comfort in that. Our mind likes to think we are the only one suffering or struggling, it is wrong.
We are not our mind, we are not our thoughts. We are beneath that. There is peace within us. Our minds cloud our innate being.
Let go.
Let go of the tales you tell yourself.
Let go of thoughts.
It is as the saying goes 'a lot easier said than done', but promise me you'll try. If you keep trying, keep practicing, you will feel lighter.
Practice letting go as often as needs be. When you feel the mind pull you into its fog, step back, witness, let go. That is where your power is.
When you slip up, be kind to yourself. In meditation, we learn to gently return to our breath, our body when we get lost in thought.
I'm letting go of self-judgment and self-criticism.
I am choosing to be.
Just be.
Your natural state of being is full of peace and joy. Foster this everyday. With time, we will get there.
I know when you're struggling, it can be difficult to see the light.
Just know that it is there.
Hope is there, flickering, calling you back down to earth.
