The Person You Really Need To Marry
I've been feeling pretty bad about myself the last few days which has not been very fun BUT today is Friday woo! This entire day I've been trying to motivate myself to feel good and get some positivity flowing. I came across this ted talk called 'The person you really need to marry' by Tracy McMillan and I loved it. I'm not sure if it was just what I needed to hear but I thought it was amazing.
I have written a blog post about self-love before and this very much ties into that. It focuses on the person you really need to marry and I'm sure you have guessed it, It's YOU. Every single word she spoke was so honest and relate-able. I could really feel how true she was. Her words were really from the heart. I even shed a tear at the end to be honest. I really truly want every single person to watch this. link below.
I can't emphasis enough how important this step is to becoming the person you need/want to be, Self-love is crucial to a happier, healthier you. I know things are so much easier said then done. It's difficult to change your thinking and break out of those bad habits we have all developed at some stage. It can be vulnerable and scary but it doesn't need to be.
Tracy mentions a saying that I really like to live by and that is,
'Love yourself as much as you want someone else to love you'
This is a very powerful sentence. We constantly crave love from others but we never dare to think of the one person who is always there and can at any time give you the love you so badly want.
Tracy says how she feels her mission is to 'light up her little corner of the world' to help others achieve their dreams and aspirations. This is exactly what we need in this world, love.
It is crazy how much changing the way we perceive ourselves can effect us in such a strong way. I want this to be my mission and anyone who is reading this, your mission, to truly look at yourself and love you for who you are. I want to encourage others to light up their corner of their world and to live fully.
YOU are the person who is going to be with you for the rest of your life. Be the one to hold yourself and comfort yourself when your down. Make that promise that you'll never leave your side. I'm going to go write down right now that promise to myself. I'm going to keep working on me and I am never ever going to give up on myself and you know why? because I love myself from this moment on wards.
